The IMMAF can today congratulate The New Zealand Mixed Martial Arts Federation (NZMMAF) on achieving a landmark target in receiving official recognition from its national government.

The regulation and development of Mixed Martial Arts in New Zealand can now enjoy a much needed boost in resources after Sport NZ confirmed the NZMMAF as the country’s official governing body for the sport of MMA.

Reported today by Stuff.co.nz, the recognition enables the New Zealand TAB betting site to feature UFC bouts starting this weekend, March 20th, with UFC Fight Night in Brisbane which is already availabe for betting on Tab.co.nz.

Betting availability on the New Zealand TAB website means a significant opportunity for national sports bodies which are entitled to a percentage of the profits and turnover. For the full article and reaction from NZMMAF President Terry Hill click the link HERE.
