The most internationally diverse team ever assembled of certified cutmen and cutwomen is now confirmed for the 2017 IMMAF World Championships in Manama, Bahrain.
Taking place at Khalifa Sports City Arena from 12 to 19 November, as part of Brave International Combat Week, the 2017 World Championships are anticipated to be the biggest event to date under IMMAF with more participants than ever before representing nations from all continents.
The IMMAF Progression scheme for cutmen and cutwomen has seen approved educational methods spread worldwide and includes 3 levels (C, B & A) with professional licenses issued at level B (National Level) and A (International Level). Licenses are awarded on completion of IMMAF Cutman Certification courses and based on records of events serviced.
IMMAF certification courses are hosted by veteran UFC and AIBA Olympic boxing cutman, Joseph Clifford. All IMMAF certified seconds are educated in adherence to the use of natural hemostatic agents only. Throughout the world championships the cuts team will be supervised by Joseph Clifford and the longest serving cutman to the UFC, Bob Plant.
The team will also be responsible for athlete hand wrapping. Those who do not currently possess a class A license are permitted the educational opportunity to shadow and assist class A license holders.
Nine global graduates of official IMMAF certification have been selected from across six IMMAF member nations.
